Aliza Stein, M.A. is an advanced practicum extern supervised by Ginny Fullerton, Ph.D. Aliza graduated from Boston University in 2014. Following graduation, Aliza worked as a research assistant in psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medicine on several NIH funded clinical studies. Aliza is currently a 5th year student in the Clinical Psychology doctoral program at UT-Austin. Her primary research interest is improving behavioral treatment for depression. Aliza is passionate about delivering evidence-based care to children and adults with mood and anxiety disorders. Aliza has gained specific expertise in using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for treating panic, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder, and depression. Aliza has completed additional training in Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which she incorporates into her practice. Aliza aims to provide collaborative evidence-based therapy tailored to the individual needs of each patient. She is particularly interested in helping individuals and their family’s implement creative strategies to foster behavior change at home.
