Andrew Levihn-Coon

Psychology Extern

Andrew (he/him/his) is a psychology practicum extern, providing services at COAP under the supervision of Ginny Fullerton, Ph.D. He graduated from Claremont McKenna College in 2015 with a B.A. in Psychology and Philosophy. After graduating, he pursued psychological research interests, serving as a research coordinator for Mark Powers, Ph.D., and Jasper Smits, Ph.D., at The University of Texas at Austin where he coordinated randomized controlled trials examining the efficacy of treatments for arachnophobia, pain management, social anxiety, PTSD, panic attacks, and smoking cessation, with an emphasis on CBT and exercise augmentation. Andrew then worked as a clinical research coordinator for Anne Richards, M.D., M.P.H., at UCSF and the San Francisco VA Medical Center coordinating a randomized placebo-controlled clinical drug trial of doxazosin for PTSD nightmares, sleep disturbance, and overall PTSD symptoms. Andrew is now a doctoral student in UT Austin’s Clinical Psychology Ph.D. Program where his research focuses on behavioral change interventions for depression with an emphasis on exercise, sleep, diet, and social engagement. He has gained experience providing cognitive behavioral therapy for a range of conditions as well as conducting psychological assessments at the UT Psychology Training Clinic. Andrew is passionate about making therapy an enjoyable, collaborative, and productive process and is excited about providing evidence-based treatments for both adolescents and adults at COAP.
