Biography
Azul Lozoya Gomez (she/her/ella) is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in Texas. She earned her Master’s degree in Applied Clinical Psychology from Pacific University in Oregon and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Azul completed her clinical practicum at the NW Anxiety Institute in Portland, Oregon, where she received specialized training in evidence-based treatment for anxiety disorders and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), including exposure-based and behavioral interventions. She has experience implementing these interventions through individual, group, and intensive outpatient settings. During her graduate training, Azul conducted research examining the factors that influence a minority students’ experience in higher education. This work continues to inform her clinical perspective, as she remains committed to reducing mental health barriers for marginalized communities through active involvement in professional organizations and ongoing volunteer efforts. As a bilingual and bicultural clinician, Azul strives to create an affirming and culturally responsive therapeutic space. She is passionate and is dedicated to advancing equitable access to compassionate, effective care. Azul works to build a collaborative, supportive environment in order to empower her clients towards reaching their goals.
