Individual Therapy

Every therapist at our practice has daily experience treating individuals and families who struggle with anxiety and/or OCD. Evidence supports cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for the treatment of OCD, anxiety, and a number of other problems. Our clinicians provide services using the CBT approach and may incorporate mindfulness-based techniques, process-focused work, and specific skills training as needed. Although no two therapists are exactly alike, we all have a passion for providing the highest quality care and strive for a balance of sensitivity and strategy. Collaboration is at the heart of CBT for any age. You can count on us to join with you, share our understanding of the methods in which we have confidence, and develop plans with your values and needs in mind.

FAQs

Insurance

We are not in-network with insurance carriers, but your health plan may entitle you to partial reimbursement. Checking with your insurance carrier to learn about your out-of-network mental health benefits for specialist outpatient therapy may help you select the most sustainable treatment option. Reimbursement is considered a matter between you and your insurance carrier.

Treatment duration

Many individuals and families receiving CBT can expect to see meaningful change within a few weeks to a few months. The length of treatment varies from person to person and is determined collaboratively as part of treatment planning and review. We can provide feedback and expectations about length of treatment as we gain an understanding of your goals and concerns.

Session frequency

Most individual therapy clients begin with weekly sessions when problems are causing distress but not significantly impairing school or occupational functioning. Our team is prepared to offer more intensive support for clients whose difficulties pose significant barriers to school or work attendance, therapy homework completion, or functional family relationships.
