Psychology Extern
Sofia (she, her, hers, ella) is a practicum extern, providing services at COAP under the supervision of Thien-An Le, Ph.D. Sofia received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is currently a fourth year in the School Psychology doctoral program at The University of Texas at Austin. Sofia’s graduate training has focused on providing evidence-based treatment and intervention to families in schools and communities, with a particular interest in marginalized communities. Sofia is bilingual in Spanish and English and has had a variety of experiences working with bilingual populations clinically and in research. At UT-Austin, she has gained expertise providing CBT, psychoeducational evaluations, and consultation. Sofia has worked in a variety of community, school, and forensic settings and is passionate about expanding mental health care access to youth and their families. Sofia strives to implement a strengths-based and holistic model of care, with an emphasis on practicing cultural humility.
